Should the changes be adopted, freelancers as well as employees on a contract with a foreign employer may become eligible to obtain a residence permit.

The proposal is being discussed amidst the influx of EAEU citizens who may stay and work for up to 180 days in Armenia without any permits. It is unclear whether the changes may apply to other nationalities as well.

Details of the procedure as well as any pre-conditions are not disclosed yet.
